Financial Controller – Europe: Closed to new applicants

As the European Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the financial and IT operations across European markets where your expertise and leadership will be crucial in ensuring compliance with European and US financial regulations while maximizing efficiency and profitability. Reporting to the Group CFO and with regular links to the Regional VP you will enjoy a level of autonomy that will require a mature and balanced approach. A genuine interest in the markets and services will allow your regular commentary to bring benefit to the commercial thinking and subsequent decision making of the regional business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate financial activities across multiple European locations, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement strategic financial plans to support business objectives and drive sustainable growth.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide actionable insights to senior management, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance financial performance.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis efforts to maintain financial health and mitigate risks.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, Tax advisors, regulatory authorities and financial institutions.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in financial management within a multinational organization
  • In-depth knowledge of European and US financial regulations and accounting principles (e.g., IFRS)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and drive actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across diverse teams and cultures
  • Strategic mind-set with a focus on driving continuous improvement and operational excellence
